History[]
Not much is unknown about his past, other than he was in the crowd watching his father Andrew May Sr. be hanged in the town square having been framed for the murder of Margaret Mehar.
In the 12 years that passed, he followed in his father's footsteps and preached the word of God as a pastor to the people of Toronto, including a protest outside the theatre where Georges Rondeau was performing, claiming it to be devilry. While helping Regina Simcoe with her grief, he was present when Georges Rondeau arrived at her house and asked her, having already demonstrated her ability to connect with the dead, to intercede with the spirit world and connect with the spirit of his deceased lover Terrence Crenshaw; against Andrew's protestations, Regina reluctantly agreed on the condition that Andrew also be present in order to safeguard her soul and when the seance appeared to be growing dangerous Andrew called an end to it.
On Valentines day he and Regina passed out apples to the poor but were insulted by a woman who mocked the apples as an insufficient gesture and threw it away. Believing her to be right, Regina was escorted by Andrew to a workhouse where she attempted to teach them to read so they might better themselves with an education and have the chance to escape poverty. However they were interrupted by a man ordering the children back to work; attempting to defend Regina from the man Andrew was stabbed and left bleeding on the street. He was later taken to Dr Israel's lab where he was saved by her surgical intervention, including a transfusion of her own blood into him.
Regina remained at his bedside while he recovered and he was later shown in the church where he refused to Detective Rijkers to identify or give evidence against the man who stabbed him, and even indicated his continued desire to him his attacker and other's like him help improving their lot in life.
Andrew was present and participated in the final Widow murder of Basil Garvey, alongside Gladys, Verdi Botticelli, Kenneth Rijkers and the Widow herself, Regina Simcoe. Although unclear whether he was aware beforehand, it is certain by the end that he knew of her alter-ego and approved somewhat of her mission to gain justice for both their parents when, similar to Rijkers, it was clear Garvey was untouchable through conventional means.
