Georges Rondeau is a main character in the fifth season of Slasher. He is portrayed by Thom Allison.
Background[]
Georges is a travelling magician, working in tandem with his partner, Shanika in many sold out shows around the world. He is well-regarded by most people for his theatrical expertise and spiritual connection. He is a charlatan however, using elaborate tricks, ruses, and gimmicks in order to take advantage of others. In some capacity he does believe what he does, however he also knows at to what degree what is real is what is purposefully fabricated.
He is the eighth of the Widow's victims due to his direct involvement. During the night of Margaret's murder, Georges attempted to erase Margaret's memories (under Basil Garvey's direction) using a technique to push her to the brink of death and bring her back again. Presumably Basil wanted Margaret's memories erased to either dispose of her without resorting to killing her, or to take advantage of her further. Either way, it's unclear whether the hypnosis worked, as she was killed anyway.
Georges was tied up in his own tent with another rope around his throat. He was strangled with it for several seconds, before the Widow pulled hard enough to break his neck. His decapitated head was later sent to Basil Garvey with a note in his mouth.
History[]
Before Margaret's murder, Georges attended a party at the Botticelli home with Basil Garvey, Salomé, Isaac Kashtinsky, Viviana Botticelli, Eddie Jacobs and Melanda Israel. During this time Georges hypnotizes and torments Margaret for the guests amusement. Days later Georges is approached by Basil after one of his shows with an offer—to erase someone's memories. Georges claims that it's a difficult procedure, but not entirely impossible. He warns Basil that the technique consists of pushing her to the brink of death and bring her back again, the consequences of which could result in her death. With no hesitation Basil agrees, to which Georges claims to have been wanting to perform it for a long time.
Twelve years later, Georges alongside Shanika, kept their jobs as a travelling magicians, and spent the entire duration overseas. Georges' arrival almost immediately triggers the Widow's actions, as most were very quick to point out the timing between his coming back and the murders—making him a prime suspect. With Isaac's fear having taken over, Georges is arrested by him and tortured to force a confession. Initially when the murders begin he feigns ignorance in hopes that the killer will be caught, but as they continue Georges begins to believe that the Widow is a vengeful spirit, as a consequence of his interest in the dark arts. He begins to have nightmares of Margaret as his impending doom looms overhead.

Death[]
Georges is the eighth victim of the Widow.
Immediately following the death of Venetia Botticelli, Georges becomes distraught that his life's work is falling apart, especially with the Widow's impending judgement. After getting back to his tent, he's approached by the Widow from behind and attacked, finding himself bound with thick rope around his throat. He begins bleeding through his mouth, with the lacerations from his neck bloodying the rope as well. He mutters to himself that he deserves this before the Widow tightens the rope with so much force that it breaks his spine, killing him instantly.
Postmortem, his head is removed and sent to Basil Garvey in a wrapped box. In his mouth is a note; "A private message, a prophetic hex. The magician was tragic, his mind was vexed. I took what I needed, your heart is next." '
