Sonja is a Residence of Waterbury and is the Wife of the current Mayor of Waterbury Ronald Edwards.
History
Sonja was Brenda Merrit's former best friend back in high school and also has been dating Ronald since they were in High school. Ronald and Brenda slept with each other, causing Brenda to be expelled from her group of friends and setting off the events of the prom night accident.
The Prom Night Accident
In 1968, Brenda Merrit dropped a cinder block on a car that was about to drive under the bridge she was standing on with the intention of hitting Sonja, the driver of the vehicle, as revenge for exiling her from the group. However she missed, and the block that was meant for Sonja instead hit Ada causing her to spend the rest of her life in a vegetative state.

Sonja and Ronald have been in a relationship since they were in high school, and are now married.
Brenda Merrit
Sonja and Brenda were former best friends in High School back in 1968, but that became a bitter hate relationship after Brenda slept with Ronald.
Ada
Sonja and Ada were friends back in high school. Sonja has been checking up on Ada since she was hit with the cinder block by Brenda.
