"The Druid" is the main antagonist of the third season of Slasher.

Unlike the other seasons, the Druid persona is used by multiple killers with their murders occurring before and during the Solstice Party; a local celebration during the Solstice.

Background[]

The Druid initially only targeted Kit Jennings; a resident of the Clayborne Apartments. After following Kit back from the Solstice party, the Druid rushes him right outside and stabs him multiple times. Though Kit manages to survive the first attack, the Druid follows him as he runs through the halls of his own apartment. Eventually, Kit was driven back outside and hit by Amy Chao's car while running across the road, which killed him in the process.

Exactly a year to the day later, the Druid resurfaces and begins targeting the witnesses of Kit's death, all of them being Clayborne Apartment residents. However, this isn't apparent until several murders are committed, especially since the first victim has suspected ties to gang activity.

upcoming Solstice party, the Druid is able to wear their disguise in broad daylight without arousing much suspicion. They gain access to the school multiple times simply by walking through the front door. And even when the Druid is chasing Jen Rijkers through the high school parking lot, spectators all assume it's a joke.

A common theme of the Druid's killing style is the use of irony, as well as performing cruel acts of murder on women before killing them - as suggested by Detective Roberta Hanson.

Motivation[]

It's revealed in Episode 5 - 6pm to 9pm , that the first Druid was Wyatt - the ex-boyfriend of Noelle Samuels. Noelle was dating Kit Jennings, and Wyatt being jealous of Kit and Noelle's relationship, created the Druid persona and followed Kit and Noelle to the Solstice Party where he silently observed them kissing and having sex. After the party was over, Wyatt followed Kit to his home with the intention of killing him. Stabbing Kit multiple times with a large kitchen knife, Wyatt pursued him throughout his apartment building. Kit was ultimately killed by Amy Chao after being hit by her car.

of the Druid for the time being. But after Kit's death, Justine Rijkers; another resident at Clayborne, posts a picture of Kit's body implying that he deserved to die. The comment caused an extreme backlash to the Rijkers' family, even affecting her two kids; Jen and Connor in school.

, Justine and her wife Amber Rijkers get into a heated argument wherein Justine expresses that she feels too overwhelmed by the situation, blaming herself for the pain she's caused her family only to be blamed by Amber as well in the heat of the moment. Walking outside after storming out, Justine goes down to Clayborne's courtyard and douses herself in gasoline. Both Jen and Connor make an attempt to convince her not to kill herself while Amber and all the other residents watch, but she does it anyway.

After Amber comes down, she hits Connor and blames him for not doing anything to save Justine. Feeling an overwhelming amount of grief and guilt all at once, he begins to blame himself even more for her death. A month later Connor decides to kill himself too by going to the top of the apartment but is caught during the attempt and talked down by Jen. The two make a pact in that moment to take vengeance on the bystanders to their suffering- everyone in Clayborne Apartments.

Both Jen and Connor adopt the Druid persona as their own and plan to kill under his name. A strategic move by Jen to place the blame on the first Druid killer, the two decide to use Saadia as an alibi both due to being with her while the Druid attacks, and because of her positive and unsuspecting nature; a natural barrier against suspicion.

In the middle of the Rijkers killing spree, Wyatt learns about the revival of the Druid and hopes to claim the infamy for himself by killing again. This time it's his ex-girlfriend, Noelle Samuels whom he resents for attending the anniversary of Kit's death. He's caught shortly after and imprisoned while the other two continue their plan.

Kills[]

Jen and Connor managed to kill eleven people during their time as the Druid, however Wyatt killed two more which brings the total kill count for the Druid; 13 people. Both Dan Olenski and Angel Lopez were led into traps that were supposed to kill them but they managed to escape. It wasn't until the two surprised Connor that Angel sacrificed his life to kill him.

It's likely that Wyatt didn't plan on killing Noelle, as his first kill wasn't premeditated. Instead it's likely he decided to kill her during the Druid's killing spree in order to cash in on his newfound status as a proficient serial killer.

Trivia:[]

  • Curiously, if discounting the one time Wyatt was The Druid for a single night before the events of the episodes, and considering all the events of the season happened within the span of a day, this means The Druid was the killer with the shortest activity period of the entire series so far.
    • This also means The Druid is arguably the most efficient of all killers so far since all the others took from days to months to complete all of their killings.
