"The Gentleman" is the main antagonist of the fourth season of Slasher.

Background[]

The Gentleman is based off an old children's ghost story wherein the builder of the Galloway Mansion died in the cellar under mysterious circumstances- cursed to forever haunt the halls with malicious intent. A figure matching the Gentleman's description; wearing a bauta mask and formal wear with a tophat, begins prowling the island in order to enforce the 'punishments' of Spencer Galloway's twisted inheritance game as well as fulfil their own wishes (killing non-participants) outside the competition.

Motivation[]

It's revealed in the final two episodes, (Goldfinger and Kindred) that the killer is completely independent of the Galloway family and is acting only according to their own will. Dr Trinh is revealed to be the killer- hired by Spencer to enforce the penalties of each game, and decides herself that the price of losing is death. Trinh has a disturbing infatuation with death and suffering, enough so that she has dedicated her life to becoming a end-of-life specialist with several serious accusations of malpractice against her.

Kills[]

Dr Trinh managed to kill eight people as the Gentleman. She also killed Ray Craft to prove her dedication to Spencer's game, and it's implied that she may have maliciously killed several others during her time as a end-of-life specialist.

O'Keeffe Galloway was also an unfortunate victim of Spencer's game, but it's more likely that Spencer himself set up the room to flood gas in rather than by Trinh's hand, seeing as all of the Gentleman's kills have been far more brutal and direct.

Victim Cause of Death
Merle Knocked out, hooked through the mouth and strung up to be haphazardly disemboweled.
Spencer Galloway While being drip fed through a PICC line, a highly potent acid was injected into the catheter, burning through his chest and out through the bottom of his bed.
Jayden Galloway Secured to four winches connected to each of his extremities; arms and legs, and slowly tightened until each one was eventually ripped off.
Seamus Galloway Impaled through the eye socket and skull with a fireplace poker, then has his other eye gouged out, his torso cut in half and then nailed to the wall through his hands.
Birgit Vogel Buried to her neck alive and slowly covered with sand until she asphyxiated.
Florence Galloway Freed from her capture after being tortured, and subsequently forced backwards to be impaled on her own sculpture.
Aphra Galloway Willingly approaches The Gentleman after consuming a hallucinogenic mushroom, and is suspended above the ground before being torn in half with a surgical handsaw.
Grace Galloway Is dazed after falling and has molten gold poured over her head.
